It includes my other creative endeavors. Here can be found posts about travel to other gardens around the world. My garden is a half acre in zone 9a which includes a large water garden. I have mostly a shade garden because of the huge live oak. To keep things easy, I love to grow bromiliads,ferns,gingers and other tropicals. I need to have a low maintenance garden. In the summer we usually have plenty of rain and it transforms into a jungle. I have converted my swamp into the water garden where I grow irises, waterlilies, papyrus, radigan, spikebush and swamp lily. I also grow citrus (lemon,key lime,grapefruit,tangerines,pineapple,and loquats). Me?...Often the prickly thorn produces tender roses. (Ovid)
I love this!!! How creative!!! Ok was were the orange flowers honeysuckle??? I have a vine with similar flowers in my front bed. I so enjoyed coming along for the ride!

DeleteWhat a great way to take a virtual tour -- very intriguing! And the sights along the way are delightful. This was a great trip for a winter weary soul, and easy to do from my armchair : )
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, can you tell us how you did this? I've tried to copy/paste/save images from Google Maps with no success. This is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe white flower with the yellow center is some kind of Solanum. It's from the potato/tomato family. It could be a type of deadly nightshade which has red berries and is--you guessed it--deadly. If you Google "Solanum" and click on the images, you should be able to find a match. It's very pretty. The whole place looks wonderful. I bet you had a great time. We have a place to ride bikes nearby too. Recently they began charging $7.00 to park there. Kind of put a damper on it.
Hi Sharon, my daughter Jacquei is a bike enthusiast since many years. She is soon off on a big trip 5000km, from Cairns to the top end down to western Australia 8 weeks! The orange bells are called Pyrostegia, here it flowers in the winter season. I very much like the Sabal Palms with their untidy wigs.

What a hi-tech way to document your trip. There's lots to see. How long was the journey and what distance was covered?
