It was a very warm November and as I type in December, it is 80 degrees. I am leaving this paradise for the frigid north in PA, VA and NYC for the holidays. A change of scenery is always invigorating.

Tried some lettuces and I got a bumper crop of Meyers Lemons and Ruby Red Grapefruit.
and lettuce and Ruby Reds! |

Good morning dear Sharon ~ That Santa in your header certainly looks happy.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what lovelies are blooming in your gardens, very pretty and tropical.
I am sorry for the loss of your dear friend, but am glad you and she had each other in your lives.
Have a lovely Christmas holiday in the frigid north. It would be nice to get some 'chilly' weather down here.
Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady
This time of year can be tough when you've lost someone dear. I do hope you'll feel better enough to appreciate your change of pace and scenery during holiday travels. Peace.
ReplyDeleteFirst I wanted to tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. There are no words for the pain that is felt when losing a true friend. I will be praying for you. I'm glad that you are able to get away for the holidays. Your photo with the hammock in the background and your bloom in the foreground is amazing!!!! I would be lying in that spot day in and day out! And I'm jealous that you are able to grow and eat ruby reds! My mom is known as the grapefruit lady at our local ma and pop grocery store. She would be in heaven in your garden! She has turned all of the beans into monster grapefruit eaters! A very lovely weekend to you lady...all the best...Nicole
ReplyDeleteGreat post!!! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have some lovely growth happening there. And I've got to say that I love your header.. what a great photo!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the loss of your friend. I can't imagine how deeply you feel her absence.
These are such great pictures, Sharon. I love the one with the hammock especially. What is the fabulous plant in front of the hammock, with the magenta leaves?
ReplyDeleteYour lemons and ruby reds are amazing!! You are so lucky to have them in your garden! Let me wish you Happy Holidays!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness . . . I'm so jealous of your lemons and grapefruits! I just can't grow them in my clay-like soil here.
ReplyDeleteeli... you are welcome to come get a whole bunch!! or I can deliver to a neutral drop spot haha
Deleteso amazing to see your fruits and lettuces, flowers and greenery. So different from our snowy world.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!!
lovely holidays to you and yours!
Your November looks to have been the season of brilliance and fruitfulness – really your place is a paradise. Have a nice trip to the colder part of the US. When you think of your deceased loved friend, she’ll be traveling with you. Today the highest temperature was less than 46F in my part of the world. Winter is come.

With such a good harvest of lemons, ruby reds on top of crisp lettuces and blooms, life is sweet for you. To be able to go to the north to escape the cold - its la vie en rose. Happy Holidays.
